![]() Apple says its new entry level 21.5″ iMac, announced yesterday, is “even more affordable.”
The chip inside the new iMac has been downgraded to 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor instead of a quad-core and also halved the memory to a 500GB hard drive. The CPU has Turbo Boost Speeds up to 2.7 GHz.
The iMac also features Intel HD 5000 graphics, 8GB of memory, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, 2 X Thunderbolt ports and four USB 3.0 ports.
It also has iLife and iWork apps and runs OS X. The final version of Apple’s recently announced OS X Yosemite will be available later this year.
Configure-to-order options include a 1TB hard drive, a 1TB Fusion Drive, and up to 256GB flash storage.
