Bowers & Wilkins Add Double Dome Tweeters To CM Speakers

Bowers & Wilkins Add Double Dome Tweeters To CM SpeakersBowers &
Wilkins refined speaker range, the CM Series 2, has just been announced.

The redesigned CM series features the latest Bowers & Wilkins technologies – including Decoupled

Double Dome
tweeters, which amps up audio performance.

These tweeters utilises a thin

aluminium
dome surrounded by a thicker aluminium ring for the perfect combination of
lightness and rigidity, helping

prevent
audible distortion.

For the first time the entire CM Series features these outstanding new tweeters.

The new CM series 2, which sits between the studio-quality 800 Series Diamond and the recently-launched  600 Series, start at RRP $799 for a pair of FS-CM’s to $5,700 for Bowers &
Wilkins CM10.

The CM10 S2
and CM6 S2 also boast tweeter-on-top technology – a feature shared with B&W advanced reference speaker, the 800 Series Diamond.

Isolating
the tweeter in this way aids imaging and dispersion, creating a more lifelike
sound and a better sense of space.

The entire
range has been redesigned, with all visible fixings

removed for
improved acoustic performance and protective circular tweeter grilles to
preserve audio clarity.

However, the CM2 speakers retain the high-quality, real wood cabinets which help improve

sound
quality.

New
crossovers use respected Mundorf capacitors throughout while Anti-Resonance
dustcaps are employed across all bass/midrange drive units for smoother
response. There’s also
upgraded internal wiring and nickel-plated terminal blocks.

These
improvements augment existing CM Series technologies such as FST midrange drive
units in the CM8

S2, CM9 S2
and CM Centre 2 S2 plus, in the flagship CM10 S2, the additional clarity of a
decoupled FST assembly.

The all new
CM Series speakers are available in Gloss, Black, Rosenut and Satin White
finishes, except the ASW10CM S2, which is available in Gloss Black and Satin
White.

The FS-CM
stand is available in Black and Silver finishes.

The new speakers are selected
