‘Fastest Selling Phone EVER’: Samsung S4

The 5″ life companion Galaxy S4 “sets a new record for Samsung, generating sales quicker than any of its predecessors” selling over 10m less than a month after launch on April 27.

Available in 110 countries globally, the smartphone with its shiny Full HD Super AMOLED display, is estimated to be selling at a whopping rate of four units per second, Samsung said in a statement.
By comparison, Apple sold 5m iPhone 5s in its first weekend of sale.
Sales of its predecessor, S III hit 10-million 50 days after its launch, while the S II took five months to reach the same mark.

“On behalf of Samsung, I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung GALAXY S4. At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people,” said JK Shin, CEO of Samsung Mobile Communications.
Shin predicted the milestone, earlier this month.
But its not just black and white, the S4 will soon be seen in Purple Mirage, Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, the world’s biggest phone maker confirmed.

The S4 will gradually be rolled out to a total of 155 countries worldwide.
Just last week, Google announced a new special-ed S4 with all its new Android bells and whistles – including the new music streaming service, and better Maps, Chrome search.
Smarthouse visited the Samsung Store in Sydney recently, where a special Galaxy counter was set up and consumers wishing to buy the ‘life companion’ were forced to wait in line.
Although it has some supply issues, it appears Samsung has it under control.
