Fisher & Paykel COO Steps down
Mike Church has resigned as Chief Operating Officer director of Fisher & Paykel Australia after 31 years, it was announced today.
There was no reason for the departure, but it seems the company did not wish to announce the change until a replacement had been found. Church held the role for eight years.
Company veteran Mark Pacey has been appointed as Church’s replacement, effective immediately. He has worked at Fisher & Paykel for 11 years and most recently held the role of General Manager, Sales.
“Mark will bring the strong leadership of our team and brands that is required to be successful in today’s highly competitive environment,” said Laurence Mawhinney, Executive VP Sales & Customer Experience.
New Zealand-born Church began his career in New Zealand in 1982 in a range of sales roles.
In 1989, he moved to Australia following a promotion to a senior sales position where he played a crucial role in developing the Fisher & Paykel brand in Australia and building retailer relationships.
“Australia is a significant global retail market for Fisher & Paykel and Mike’s contribution has been immense.
“The respect for Fisher & Paykel and the expansion of our brand in the Australian market place is testimony to Mike’s leadership and we thank him sincerely for his contribution,” said Mawhinney.
