Home > Accessories > Amazon Alexa > Updated Mesh WiFi Orbi Out Now

As of today you can pick up Netgear’s next generation of Orbi WiFi Systems, allowing for better signal distribution within large homes and app based parental controls for devices connected to the home network.

The new range improves on previous models by providing coverage up to 555 square metres when paired with two satellite units, speeds up to 2.2Gbps (courtesy of their FastLane3 technology) and a design that blends in with modern home aesthetics.

Netgear has partnered with Disney to deliver app based network wide parental controls for the Orbi.

Circle with Disney Smart Parental Controls allows administrators to define time limits and content filters on specific devices connected to the home network.

Integration with Google Assistant allows for the Orbi use voice commands for a variety of functions, including remotely disabling the Guest network and restarting the router.

Alexa Skill users will need to wait for Netgear to remove geo-restrictions on the Orbi before they can make full use of the device outside of the USA.

The new Orbi comes in at AU$369 with one satellite unit or at AU$499 for two satellites and can be found at authorised Netgear partners, major retailers and online.
