Uniden Australia has launched its new SOLO X2K range, bringing continuous 24/7 recording to wire-free, solar-powered security cameras for the first time.

At the centre are the SOLO X2K PT Pro Kit and SOLO X2K 4G Pro Kit, both featuring Uniden’s new OnWatch Technology that delivers non-stop adaptive frame rate recording even when powered solely by solar energy.

The SOLO X2K PT Pro Kit offers a fully wire-free, pan-and-tilt outdoor camera with 2K Super HD resolution, colour night vision, two-way talk and AI motion alerts. It runs on a powerful 10,400mAh rechargeable battery and includes a solar panel and 32GB Micro SD card for dual local and cloud recording.

For properties without Wi-Fi, the SOLO X2K 4G Pro Kit provides 4G connectivity, smart motion detection, and the same OnWatch continuous recording. This one is ideal for remote or off-grid locations like farms, construction sites and caravans.

Expanding beyond the Pro Kits, the new range also includes:

  • SOLO X2K Bell Plus – a 2K wire-free video doorbell with a fisheye lens, AI alerts, colour night vision and a wireless chime.

  • SOLO X2K 4G Plus – a 4G-enabled security camera with spotlight, magnetic bracket, solar panel and a 9,000mAh battery.

  • App Cam X24 – an indoor 2K camera with night vision, AI alerts, and two-way talk, ideal for monitoring pets or indoor spaces.

All SOLO X2K devices include free seven day rolling cloud backup for the life of the product and a 32GB Micro SD card, ensuring transparent, subscription-free security.

“Australians are demanding smarter, simpler, and more affordable ways to keep their homes safe,” said Brad Hales, Head of Marketing, Oceania at Uniden.

Pricing starts at $49.95 for the App Cam X24, $179.95 for the SOLO X2K Bell Plus, $299.95 for the SOLO X2K 4G Plus (online exclusive), $279.95 for the SOLO X2K PT Pro Kit, and $449.95 for the SOLO X2K 4G PT Pro Kit.
