TCL’s Net Profits Increase Five-Fold For First Half Of 2021
TCL has reported an incredible first half of 2021, with consolidated revenues of US$11.45 billion and net profits of $1.05 billion, a leap of 153.29 per cent and 461.55 per cent year-on-year.
The massive soar in profitability came from its flagship panel maker China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), who shipped 27.7 million TV panels (just under 17 million square metres of screening), during the first six months of the year, with a 132 per cent increase in revenue year-on-year.
CSOT also shipped 49 million small-to-medium sizes panels in the same period, with a sales increase of 45 per cent.
The company has the largest market share for 55-inch TV panels in the world, panels used for tablets, and for all 8K panels with 120Hz refresh rate. CSOT is the second largest producers of 65 and 75-inch screens, and of panels used in high-end LCD gaming monitors.
