Targus Laptop Wall Charger Recalled Over Shock Risk

Product Safety Australia has recalled a Targus Laptop Wall Charger over electric shock risk – sold from retailers such as JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and Harvey Norman between 4 December 2017 and 22 February 2019.

The watchdog asserts the faceplate is at risk of separating from the body of the AC plug head, posing the risk of electric shock from exposed live parts.

Consumers are advised to contact Targus Australia Customer Service ([email protected] or 1800 641 645) for a free replacement, or refund if replacement is not available.

Affected models include APA95AU-50 and the 45W USB-C PD3.0 Laptop Wall Charger.

Consumers are asked to cease using the product immediately, ensuring power is switched off before attempting to unplug from source. If uncertain, professional assistance is recommended.
