British audio icon Tannoy is celebrating turning 100 with an ultra-exclusive run of anniversary loudspeakers set to debut at High End Vienna 2026 next month.

The heritage hi-fi brand has confirmed limited-edition versions of its flagship Westminster Royal GR and Canterbury GR speakers, based on the acclaimed Prestige Gold Reference Series.

The centenary models feature upgraded crossovers and improved internal cabling, with further technical details and pricing to be revealed later this year.

Unsurprisingly, production numbers are intentionally scarce.

Just 19 pairs of the Westminster Royal GR and 26 pairs of the Canterbury GR will be built – a nod to 1926, the year Tannoy was founded in South London.

The move marks one of the company’s biggest product announcements in years, with Tannoy hinting that more centenary editions are planned over the next three years.

Visitors to High End Vienna, running from June 4–7, will be able to hear the standard Westminster Royal GR in action, powered by Esoteric electronics and Montaudio cabling. The towering 140kg speakers are famed for their 15-inch Dual Concentric driver, horn-loaded cabinet design and claimed bass extension down to 18Hz.

The standard Westminster Royal GR already sells for around a staggering £55,000 (A$103,000), while the Canterbury GR comes in at roughly £33,000 (A$62,000).

Tannoy says the centenary range is designed to honour “a century of British audio innovation” and offer enthusiasts a rare chance to own a piece of hi-fi history.
