StormAudio has unveiled its latest high-performance amplifier, the Impulsion 8, positioning it as a next-generation solution for custom integrators working in immersive home cinema and professional audio environments.

First revealed at CEDIA Expo 2025, where it picked up a Best of Show award, the Impulsion 8 marks a shift from traditional amplification to a fully digital, network-aware platform.

The unit combines Class-D amplification with native Audio over IP (AoIP) support, including AES67 and Dante, enabling seamless integration into modern IP-based AV systems.

Housed in a compact 2RU chassis, the amplifier delivers 200W per channel at 8 ohms, with peak output reaching up to 1200W in bridged mode.

StormAudio says the design prioritises both power and efficiency, with near-silent cooling allowing installation in living spaces as well as equipment racks.

A key differentiator is its roadmap for embedded DSP, expected later in 2026. This will give integrators access to advanced processing tools such as FIR filters, EQ and limiters directly within the amplifier, reducing the need for external hardware.

The Impulsion 8 also integrates with StormAudio’s ecosystem for automated setup and remote monitoring. The unit is set to begin shipping globally in April 2026.
