Steve Jobs-signed Mac Floppy Disc Sells For $84k
A floppy disc that houses Mac System tools from 1988 and signed by Steve Jobs has sold at auction for an insane $84,115.
Confirmed as authentic and clearly a highly sought-after item, the bidding started at just $1,000 and the item was initially expected to sell for around $7,500.
The item description notes that Jobs didn’t often put his signature to memorabilia, which makes this a particularly rare find for collectors.
“Macintosh System Tools Version 6.0 floppy disc, signed in black felt tip, ‘Steve Jobs’. In fine condition, with slight brushing to the ink,” read the description.
“A hugely desirable format for Job’s seldom-seen autograph – known as a reluctant signer, he often declined to comply with the requests of collectors.”
“As a piece of Apple’s iconic Mac OS software, boasting Job’s elegantly stylish lowercase signature, this is a museum-quality piece of computing history.”
