Spoilt For Choice! LG Saturates Smart TV Market Further With Massive Range Announced At CES 2021

LG is leading the charge in the smart TV market with the introduction of a huge suite of smart TVs with varying degrees of quality, size and price during its CES 2021 announcements.

The South Korean company knows it is still king in the home entertainment arena, kicking off the virtual CES with a portfolio of premium smart TVS in the OLED, QNED Mini LED and NanoCell range.


The 2021 LG OLED TV lineup represents the company’s most comprehensive range of OLED TVs to date, with a number of exciting new models that come in many different sizes and will build on the company’s legacy of superior picture quality.

First up is the newest LG G1 series, which features OLED evo, the next step in the evolution of OLED TV technology that delivers better luminosity for improved brightness and clear, realistic images with amazing detail.

Then there is the LG C1 series, which boasts a diverse range of size options from the 48-inch version favoured by avid gamers to the new 83-inch model perfect for movie nights at home.


And LG’s latest intelligent processor, the α (Alpha) 9 Gen 4 AI, also revamps the performance on the newest LG OLED TV models in the Z1, G1 and C1 series, LG QNED Mini LED TV models QNED99 and QNED95 and LG NanoCell TV models NANO99 and NANO95.

LG will focus on its top-of-the-range Mini LED TVs in 2021, which combines NanoCell technology and Quantum Dot tech to enhance the colour reproduction in this range.

The Mini LED televisions will debut with a much slimmer look, LG said during its press conference, and will have 10 options on offer in 4K and 8K variants and up to 86 inches.

LG will also be bringing an 83-inch in its flagship OLED and C series.

The latest LG TVs will also offer an intuitive user experience thanks to the company’s updated webOS 6.0 smart TV platform.

With a completely redesigned New Home screen as well as performance and feature improvements, webOS 6.0 provides faster access to apps and a simple content discovery capability with even more personalised recommendations.

Paired with an improved Magic Remote that includes hot keys for popular content providers, the new LG webOS offers users the ability to easily control and navigate the next-generation LG TVs and the growing webOS ecosystem.

LG says its range of Smart TVs are set for release in the first half of 2021.

LG QNED Mini LED TV Lineup


2021 will also be a big year for home appliances for LG, particularly in the refrigeration category.

LG says it will be upgrading the size of its popular InstaView fridge range, with a 25% larger displau.

It will also be adding extra features to its French door range, including tech around voice recognition and UV technology on the water dispensing nozzles.

This means you may be able to soon command your fridge to open its doors if you have your hands full of groceries.


LG is also expanding its vacuum accessories in 2021 after a strong 2020 in the floorcare market.

The company is planning on including a robotic mop solution as well as a new robotic cleaner and will launch a new charging and automatic cleaning station for its handstick range.


In the laundry space, LG is set to introduce a concept product which will integrate a washer and dryer with a central control panel.

This integrated solution will be a large product which fits into the top end of LG’s product portfolio.

LG says it expects to have this in the market before the end of Q2 2021.


LG will continue pushing its soundbar range in 2021, including the launch of a new design variant: a mini soundbar which is shaped like an éclair.

The éclair soundbar is specifically designed for apartment living and while it is smaller, it will still boast 200-300W sound capacity.

This product is still in the concept stage and LG is hoping for a 2021 release.

Laptops & Monitors

Last but not least, in the IT space LG is once again trying its hand at launching an LG-branded laptop in Australia.

The laptop is expected to sit in the premium end of the market and is touted as being super lightweight, portable and with a long battery life.

The 16:10 ratio screen will have a high quality resolution and can be used for high-powered office programs.

The global lineup includes five new models: LG gram 17 (model 17Z90P), LG gram 16 (model 16Z90P), LG gram 14 (model 14Z90P), LG gram 2-in-1 16 (model 16T90P) and LG gram 2-in-1 14 (model 14T90P) all with 16:10 aspect ratio screens designed around maximising work efficiency. Certain models from this range will arrive in the Australian market this quarter.

Also in this space will be the launch of three new monitors: the UltraGear, UltraFine and UltraWide monitors for all types of computer users.
