Australian online retailers can now manage their entire shipping workflow through a single platform following a major integration between Australia Post and Shopify, eliminating hours of manual processing for thousands of businesses nationwide.

The partnership, which went live in September, enables Shopify merchants to book shipments, generate labels and monitor deliveries directly within their existing e-commerce dashboard.

Tracking numbers for outgoing Australia Post deliveries are automatically assigned, eliminating the need for manual data entry.

The integration arrives as Australian e-commerce continues its rapid expansion, with households spending $19.2 billion online in the most recent quarter alone, a 15 per cent increase year-on-year.

With approximately 40 per cent of Australia Post’s My Post Business customers already operating on Shopify, the streamlined system addresses a significant operational bottleneck for local merchants.

Gary Starr, Executive General Manager of Parcel, Post and eCommerce Services at Australia Post, emphasised the partnership responds to direct merchant feedback requesting more efficient shipping management tools.

The integration extends beyond backend efficiency, delivering enhanced customer experiences through Shopify’s Shop app.

The app allows shoppers to track deliveries and access the best post-purchase and delivery experience possible.

This consumer-facing benefit addresses rising expectations for real-time delivery updates and transparency in the fulfilment process.

For Australian businesses, the integration means reduced operational complexity and the ability to scale shipping operations without additional software investments.

Merchants can access the integration for free through their existing My Post Business accounts, with automatic application of volume-based shipping discounts.

The system preserves all existing My Post Business savings tiers while adding the efficiency of single-platform management.
