Sanity To Close All 50 Retail Stores In OZ

Australian brick-and-mortar music retailer Sanity has finally been defeated by the two-decade march of digital music services, announcing it will close all 50 retail stores by April.

The company’s owner, Ray Itaoui, confirmed the closures, confirming that “diminishing physical content” has driven the decision.

“It has made it impossible to continue with our physical stores,” Itaoui told NBN.

“Our online business will continue to operate and will service the many loyal customers the brand has continued to be dedicated to over the decades.

“Our priority right now is to ensure each of our team members knows exactly what this means for their career and employment future.”

Sanity was founded in 1980 and had over 200 stores at its peak.
