Samsung Working On New ‘Double-Sided’ Display Smartphone

Proving its commitment to continual innovation, Samsung has revealed it is working on a new ‘double-sided’ display smartphone, following a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

LetsGoDigital first noticed the USPTO patent, noting that the original Korean certificate was requested by Samsung Display in October 2015.

As the images within the patent application reflect, the ‘double-sided’ smartphone features a touchscreen which runs all the way to the back of the device.

App icons are visible both on the front and back of the smartphone.

Samsung’s design loosely resembles that of the Meizu Pro 7 dual-screen smartphone series, however, the Meizu smartphones incorporate two separate sized display screens, whereas Samsung’s features one large screen which rounds at the edge of the device.
