Samsung Tipped to Launch 5G Galaxy S10+
Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S10 lineup will reportedly feature four handsets, including a 5G compatible model – news which comes admist a major strategic shift for the Korean giant.
As previously reported, Samsung Mobile boss, DJ Koh, confirms the company is moving away from a flagship centric focus, towards a more diversified portfolio.
According to XDA-Developers, a series of XML software files reveals the Galaxy S10 lineup will encompass four phones, currently codenamed ‘beyond’.
- Beyond2 5G
Should speculation be correct, the last Galaxy variant will be Samsung’s first 5G compatible flagship phone.
Commentators predict ‘Beyond0’ to ‘Beyond1’ will be the Galaxy S10, with the S10+ featuring ‘Beyond 2’ and ‘Beyond2 5G’.
Like former Samsung Galaxy smartphones, one stream is tipped to incorporate a Samsung Exynos processor, and the other Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset.
Consensus is the devices will launch early 2019, or around Mobile World Congress next year.
According to Korean news outlet The Bell, Samsung will only be producing limited qualities of its first 5G handsets.
