Austrian hi-fi brand Pro-Ject Audio Systems has launched a new limited-edition LED-lit turntable in celebration of Elvis Presley.

The Pro-Ject Elvis Turntable, released to mark what would have been the king of rock ‘n’ roll’s 90th birthday, is built on Pro-Ject’s acclaimed T2 audiophile platform.

The CNC-machined plinth glows with a dimmable red ELVIS logo, which is a nod to the 1968 NBC Comeback Special sign that lit up the singer’s return to form.

The belt-driven turntable runs at 33 and 45 RPM with electronic speed control, powered by a precision motor that keeps wow and flutter impressively low (±0.19%).

The hefty 10mm, 1.7kg glass platter ensures precise playback, while the pre-fitted Sumiko Rainier moving magnet cartridge, hand-made in Japan, ensures clear and accurate vocal reproduction.

Gold-plated RCA outputs, a 9-inch aluminium tonearm, and Pro-Ject’s high-grade Connect it Phono E cable round out the package, making this one of the more technically refined tributes in Pro-Ject’s Artist Collection which also includes tributes to The Beatles, AC/DC and Metallica.

The Elvis Turntable is priced at £1,199 (A$2,460), more than double the base T2 model, and is currently a UK-exclusive release via Henley Audio.
