Sony Launches Into Hard Drive

The slim one 1TB (HDE1BC/PC/SC) hard drive is “one of the fastest 2.5-inch hard drives on the market,” thanks to its Data Transfer Accelerator software for USB 3.0, with transfer speeds up to three times faster.
The Sony is ultra portable, weighs just 220g and comes in black, silver and pink cases.

The hard drive also automatically back-ups to PC, and has AES 256-bit encryption to protect unauthorised users. It comes with massive three-year warranty.

The slim, stylish aluminium design is typically Sony and it’s very easy to use – especially with Sony hardware like Playstation 3, Handycams or BRAVIA TVs,” says Abel Makhraz, Sony Personal Entertainment.

Sony says it has “taken the lead by providing the fastest, most secure, and easiest-to-use product in the consumer storage market” with the new hard drive.

It is available at JB Hi-Fi as well as Sony’s direct channels, Sony Centres, Sony Kiosks and Online store for $99.
However, a quick look on Sony Online today showed the device is already out of stock.
