Nothing Reportedly Developing Two AI Smart Glasses Models For 2027
Nothing is reportedly developing two different smart glasses models for a 2027 launch, including one with a camera and AI features and another focused on audio, phone calls and voice assistant access.
The reports suggest the UK-based technology company could be taking a different approach to competitors such as Meta by offering consumers a choice between camera-equipped glasses and a simpler audio-only alternative.
The first model is reportedly designed mainly for audio and would allow users to listen to music, make phone calls and interact with the voice assistant via their smartphone.
Unlike Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, this version would reportedly have no built-in camera and no direct AI integration.
This could be appealing for people who want hands-free audio and smartphone access, but not the additional features or privacy concerns of a camera-equipped wearable.
The second rumoured model is expected to offer a more advanced feature set, including a built-in camera, ChatGPT integration and translation capabilities.
The camera could support hands-free photography and potentially provide visual information for AI-powered interactions. However, many details are not clear, including how the translation features would work, or how much processing will take place on the glasses, a connected smartphone or in the cloud.
The use of ChatGPT would also distinguish Nothing’s approach from Google’s Android XR platform, which is built around Gemini.
Both models are reportedly expected to feature photochromic lenses, which automatically darken in bright sunlight and become clearer indoors.

Nothing has built its brand around distinctive industrial design, with transparent finishes, minimalist styling and illuminated elements on some of its smartphones and audio products.
The smart glasses could provide another opportunity for the company to differentiate its products in the increasingly competitive wearable technology market.
Nothing’s reported two-model strategy could broaden its appeal, especially for those not keen on adopting camera-equipped glasses.
The audio-focused model is reportedly coming sooner, although no confirmed release date for either model been announced.
Pricing, battery life, frame designs and smartphone compatibility are also yet to be disclosed. And for now, both products remain unconfirmed.
