To the delight of many consumers, Nintendo Australia has announced it’s resurrecting both the NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini – with retailers such as EB Games wasting no time to open pre-orders for the retro gaming consoles.

For many consumers, the adored Nintendo 64 Mini remains a highly anticipated retro favourite.
As previously reported, Nintendo has confirmed it’s not launching ‘Virtual Console’ for the Switch.
Coupled with its recent announcement, the news suggests Nintendo has several strategies – rather than one streamlined approach – to release retro games.
Speaking to Kotaku US, a Nintendo spokesperson affirmed:
“There are currently no plans to bring classic games together under the Virtual Console banner as has been done on other Nintendo systems”
“There are a variety of ways in which classic games from Nintendo and other publishers are made available on Nintendo Switch, such as through Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo eShop or as packaged collections”.
