Nikon’s 360 Camera Delivers A New Perspective Of New Zealand
Nikon has partnered with Tourism New Zealand to showcase the country in a series of 360-degree 4K videos
The KeyMission 360 from Nikon was used to capture scenic footage from three popular NZ tourist destinations: Doubtful Sound, Bay of Plenty and Auckland.
Footage from Doubtful Sound can be viewed below (Chrome browser or YouTube app required for 360-degree viewing):
Capable of capturing 360-degree video in 4K UHD, the KeyMission 360 is also protected against damage from shock, water, cold and dust, making it ideal for a New Zealand adventure.
“The nature of the KeyMission 360 is incredibly immersive and will give viewers the feeling they are in fact experiencing these activities in New Zealand. Leveraging 360 photography to promote New Zealand is an opportunity to add depth and richness to our country and promote autumn travel,” said Tony Saunders, Tourism New Zealand General Manager, Australia.
The partnership marks the first time Nikon Australia has collaborated with a tourism body. Nikon Australia’s Marketing Manager John Young said New Zealand was the “perfect stage” to showcase the capabilities of 360-degree video.
“With the KeyMission 360, images are combined in-camera to create a single realistic and high definition 360° image output, and the robust design means it’s ready for outdoor adventures virtually anywhere.”
Tourism New Zealand will promote the footage in a global campaign across digital and social media, with Nikon Australia also using the footage for online marketing.
