Netflix Reveals Cost Of Adding Members To Password Sharing
Netflix has recently started the crackdown on password sharing in over 100 countries, stating users will no longer be able to share passwords outside a household for free.
Since, it has been looking for new ways to make money facing signs of market saturation, including limits on password borrowing and a new ad-supported option.
Emails have been sent to all consumers regarding account sharing. These were sent to 103 countries including the US, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Mexico and Brazil.

It states Netflix accounts should only be used for one household. Paying customer can add a member outside the household for an additional fee. The current US price for this is $8 a month.
A person’s profile can also be transferred that way the user can keep viewing history and recommendations.
Last year, it was announced that Netflix would be limiting account sharing, and various approaches were tested in some markets.

It was estimated over 100 million households supplied log-ins to friends and family outside their home.
At the end of March, the total number of paying customers was 232.5 million globally.
With the new policies, people within the same household can still sharing one account, and it can be used on different devices while travelling.
