M&K’s Latest In-Wall Speaker Is Designed For Your Ceiling
Expanding on its comprehensive custom-install offerings, M&K sound has announced the IW150A In-Wall/In-Ceiling speaker.
The new speaker features a pair of 5.7-degree fixed-angle woofers, as well as a 13-degree fixed-angle tweeter, making it flexible for a variety of install options.
According to M&K, the IW150A’s design means its an ideal solution for those looking for a ceiling height speaker in Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or Auro3D setups.
In addition, when used as a height channel or surround channel, the new speaker provides users with even audio coverage, eliminating hotspots and providing everyone in the room with the same experience.

For those who have limited speaker placement options, the new speaker can be used in LCR applications angled up-firing or down, making it perfect for use surrounding a flat-panel TV or display, or as in-wall surround sound.
Thanks to the IW150A’s wide vertical and horizontal dispersion (+/- 30 degrees and +/- 45 degrees respectively), it is an ideal home theatre solution for crystal clear front soundstage audio and dialogue.
Finally, as with the rest of the IW range, the IW150A has an internal volume of only “20” thanks to timbre matching. This is 30% less than a normal cabinet according to M&K, all whilst “preserving the celebrated neutrality, realism and musicality that are the signature of M&K Sound.”
The M&K Sound IW150A is due for launch early this month, with a suggested RRP of $1,099 USD (~A$1,689.43). Official Australian pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
