According to a new leak, Microsoft want’s you sharing its Xbox Game Pass with your friends and family.

Known Microsoft tipster @Alumia_Italia has leaked potential branding for an Xbox Game Pass “Friends & Family” service, which suggests that users may be able to split a shared subscription for cheaper access to the service.

Microsoft has been testing an Xbox Game Pass Family plan in Colombia and Ireland this month, setting precedent for a shared subscription. In Ireland, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is €12.99 per month for the individual whilst the new test plan is €21.99 per month and can be shared with 4 additional people.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is the top tier subscription, costs $15.95 a month in Australia, whilst PC Game Pass and standard Xbox Game Pass are only $10.95, but don’t grant access to certain perks and discounts, as well as online play.

The “Family & Friends” service will unlock ultimate for several users (five if like the test service), which benefits Microsoft in securing more subscribers, and the consumer with a cheaper rate per person.
