Microsoft Pushes Out Windows 11 2025 Update
Microsoft has begun rolling out the Windows 11 2025 update, version 25H2, though users shouldn’t expect dramatic changes just yet.
The company describes the release as an “enablement package”, essentially bundling incremental features introduced with last year’s 24H2 update.
In short, it’s more about catching up older devices than adding new tools.
Behind the scenes, however, the update strengthens Windows’ defences.
Microsoft says 25H2 includes advances in build and runtime vulnerability detection and introduces AI-assisted secure coding, aimed at making the platform more resilient against modern cyber threats
It also trims legacy baggage by removing PowerShell 2.0 and the Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC). That won’t matter for most users, but IT admins running older scripts may hit compatibility issues.
Microsoft is delivering the update in stages, beginning with users who already have 24H2 installed and have opted into early access.
Larger new features are expected in the coming months as part of the company’s accelerated update cycle.
For now, 25H2 looks less like a major overhaul and more like a foundation for the next phase of Windows 11’s AI-driven security strategy.
