The 16MP DMC-GX7 is a first for Pana’s G Series, with integrated high resolution viewfinder, 1/8000 sec shutter speed (making it the fastest G Series on the market), and image stabiliser built in.

Announced yesterday, the Lumix DMC-GX7 will be available in Australia in September, starting from RRP $1,249, in two tone black and silver body; or simply a black body.

“In the same way as the DMC-GH3 set the benchmark in video functionality, the DMC-GX7 leads the G Series in imaging capability,” says Doug Campbell, Product Marketing Manager – LUMIX, Panasonic Australia.
The GX7 makes a leap forward in compact camera technology with 90-degree tiltable Live View Finder, offering 2764k-dot equivalent high resolution, 100% colour reproduction, which no other camera can match in its class, say its maker.
It has a max 1/8000 sec shutter speed when partnered with a high speed lens and open aperture, allowing depth of field even in bright light, so handy for taking shots in the sun.
The GX7 Lumix is super fast, kitted out with Contrast AF System, with camera and lens digital exchange at 240 frames per second. It allows for high speed burst shooting at 5 frames p/s, and up to 40 frames p/s using an electronic shutter.

It has start-up time of just  0.5 sec.
