L’Oréal Groupe Unveils Infrared Hair Dryer At CES 2024

L’Oréal Groupe has revealed its new hair drying tool, the AirLight Pro, designed for both professionals and consumers at home, at CES 2024.

Developed alongside partner Zuvi, the device uses a combination of infrared light technology, and wind for visually smoother and hydrated hair. It also dries faster due to optimised heat flow across various hair types, and uses up to 31% less energy.

Zuri applied their patented LightCare technology, developing a product that utilises infrared light and high-speed wind to dry water on the hair surface efficiently, while leaving internal moisture in hair strands.

A team comprised of over 100 engineers, hairdressers, scientists, and designers from L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation Division and Zuvi came together to collaborate on the design of the AirLight Pro.

The device can deliver up to 33% more hydrated hair, up to 59% visually smoother hair, an enhanced user experience based on feedback from professionals, and faster drying times. Additionally, it can deliver up to 31% less energy consumption.

It’s equipped with a special 17-blade, high speed motor, and patented infrared technology, powered by tungsten-halogen bulbs.

It’s been tested on over 500 people with different hair types, and was designed to adapt to the needs of the user. Hardware, app, and firmware work together to allow the user to customise settings for their needs.

The AirLight Pro hair drying tool will be launched in the US by L’Oréal Professionnel, in 2024. Australian pricing and availability is still to be announced.

General Manager for L’Oréal Professionnel, Anne Machet concluded, “As the historical brand leader and trusted partner of hairstylists since 1909, L’Oréal Professionnel has always elevated the professional industry with pioneering innovations. We’re thrilled to partner with Zuvi and invent the new generation of hair dryer. Powered with infrared light, AirLight Pro offers superior professional performance for all hair types, with significantly reduced energy consumption. The new perfect companion for all hairstylists!”
