LG Tipped To Move Up G7, V30 Release Dates

New reports say that LG is tipped to be accelerating the schedule for their next wave of smartphone devices.

According to The Investor, the company “is considering moving up the launch schedule of its next flagship smartphone G7 by couple of months to beat rivals next year.”

January is tipped to be the launch window for the company’s next flagship phone and feature an OLED-based display.

The Investor also claims that LG plans to unveil the bigger-screen V30 in August this year – a full month earlier than the September debut of last year’s LG V20 and ahead of the expected arrival date of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.

LG has declined to comment on the rumors.

The move, if true, could be seen to suggest that LG is trying to get well-and-truly clear of the Samsung and Apple dominated launch windows of September and October.

Back in April, the Tech Times’ Aaron Mammit came down on LG’s timing when it came to the release of the G6.

He said that “the LG G6 may have spent too much time in its pre-release stage.”

“LG could have announced the LG G6 earlier and started selling the device before Samsung announce the Galaxy S8. By then, loyal LG users will have already purchased the smartphone, and it could have already created a user community that recommends the LG G6 to potential customers.”
