Lenovo Googlebook Leak Reveals Premium OLED Laptop
Lenovo’s first Googlebook could be positioned as a premium alternative to conventional Chromebooks, with leaked specifications pointing to an OLED display, Intel Core Ultra processor and extensive connectivity.
An alleged Lenovo specification sheet obtained by Mac Observer identifies the laptop as the Googlebook 15, model GB 15IPH12.
It reportedly features a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 500-nit brightness and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.
The laptop is expected to use Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 processor with integrated graphics, paired with either 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
That hardware would place the Googlebook 15 well above the specs usually associated with entry-level Chromebooks.

The metal Cloud Grey chassis reportedly weighs 1.29kg and measures 15.9mm thick despite its large display. A 70Wh battery is claimed to deliver up to 11 hours of video playback.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB-A, HDMI 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Other leaked features include a 5MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter, four Dolby Atmos speakers, a large haptic touchpad and a backlit keyboard with a dedicated Google ‘G’ key.
A multicoloured LED strip called the Glowbar is positioned near the hinge and can display battery and charging information.

The laptop is expected to run Googlebook OS, Google’s emerging replacement or successor platform for premium Chromebook-style devices. It combines elements of Android and ChromeOS while offering closer integration with Android phones.
Built-in Gemini Intelligence features are also expected, alongside fingerprint recognition and an authentication system described as ‘Google facial authentication’.
Lenovo is reportedly preparing a matching AI Mouse, while other manufacturers including Acer, ASUS, Dell and HP are expected to develop Googlebook hardware.
Google is scheduled to preview the first Googlebook devices on September 15.
Pricing, release timing and Australian availability have not been confirmed.
