Leaked: Mid-Range 5G Samsung Galaxy A90

Samsung is gearing to bring 5G connectivity to the masses, with latest leaks revealing a 5G-capable mid-range Galaxy A90 in the works.

Disclosed by renowned tech leakers Ice Universe and On Leaks, the device will be Samsung’s first mid-range 5G handset, and follows DJ Koh’s pledge to ramp up its ‘affordable premium’ portfolio.

Whilst both sources confirm 5G connectivity, Ice Universe claims the handset will boast 45W Super Fast Charging – faster than on the new Galaxy S10 5G.

On Leaks claims there’ll be two variants of the Galaxy A90 – with and without 5G – however both will incorporate a Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The 6.7-inch device is also tipped to offer a notable triple rear camera set-up – a significant inclusion for a mid-range device.

Latest leaks claim the handset will also boast a in-display fingerprint scanner, and 48MP main camera sensor.

Whilst 5G coverage currently remains minimal in Australia, local telcos have pledged to significantly ramp this up in the coming year.

Samsung is also rumoured to release a 5G-capable Galaxy Note 10 around August 2019.

Commentators claim the inclusion of a 5G mid-range handset so early in 5G adoption is a reflection of Samsung’s shift away from flagship phones.
