Leaked: Apple Transforming Siri Into A Life & Wellness Coach

Leaked by CNBC’s Christina Farr, Apple wants Siri to offer users “guidance on living a healthier life”, by hiring a software engineer with a background in psychology or counselling.

Apple has unveiled its future plans for Siri through the job’s listing, revealing it wants users to be able to talk to Siri for ‘serious conversations’, or call upon the AI-enabled smart assistant during emergencies.

The role is titled “Siri Software Engineer, Health and Wellness”.

Salaries for these roles are usually in the six-figures, as Apple, Amazon, Google and Facebook are currently battling amongst themselves to recruit the brightest staff in the field of artificial intelligence.

Apple’s job listing includes the following description:

“People have serious conversations with Siri. People talk to Siri about all kinds of things, including when they’re having a stressful day or have something serious on their mind. They turn to Siri in emergencies or when they want guidance on living a healthier life. Does improving Siri in these areas pique your interest? Come work as part of the Siri Domains team and make a difference”

“We are looking for people passionate about the power of data and have the skills to transform data to intelligent sources that will take Siri to next level. Someone with a combination of strong programming skills and a true team player who can collaborate with engineers in several technical areas. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities”.

Thus far Apple has not provided a comment about the job listing and its future plans for Siri, though the advertisement does imply a lot.
