Kmart, Officeworks, Target, IKEA Join Global Net Zero Push

Kmart, Officeworks, Target and IKEA Australia have committed to the global ‘Race To Zero Breakthroughs’ retail movement, which aims to speed up the move to net zero.

The campaign was formed by an alliance of H&M, Walmart, Best Buy, Ingka Group (who own IKEA), and garden and hardware group Kingfisher Plc.

The Australian Retailers Association also put its weight behind the Race to Zero movement at the recent COP26 summit.

Australian Retailers Association CEO Paul Zahra said this targeted push for climate action will be a bigger gamechanger for retail than the move online.

“This is the next big disrupter,” Mr Zahra said. “I think the tide is turning”.
