KEF Launches Its First Soundbar
British audio specialist KEF has entered the TV audio market with its first-ever soundbar, the premium XIO.
The KEF XIO brings a high-end 5.1.2-channel setup to living rooms, competing with brands like Bang & Olufsen, Sonos and Marshall.
The XIO supports immersive spatial audio formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Sony 360 Reality Audio.
The soundbar, which can be placed flat or wall-mounted, is powered by 12 Class-D amplifiers and features KEF’s signature Uni-Q MX driver arrays, two upfiring speakers, and four bass units.

Connectivity for the XIO is robust with WiFi, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth, and HDMI 2.1 eARC support.
KEF also includes its proprietary Music Integrity Engine with Cinema DSP for advanced sound processing and onboard room calibration to optimise performance for any space.
A standout feature is the optional KW2 RX wireless subwoofer receiver, allowing users to connect any subwoofer wirelessly, offering flexibility for those wanting extra bass punch. Alternatively, a traditional wired subwoofer connection is available via RCA output.
Users can customise their listening experience via the KEF Connect app or the soundbar’s own controls, with presets such as Dialogue Mode for clearer speech and Night Mode for quieter late-night viewing.
The KEF XIO soundbar is available now for A$3,600 in black or silver finishes.
