JVC is making a renewed push into the premium home cinema market, showcasing its latest 8K projectors and high-performance gaming technology at CEDIA 2026 in Denver.

The company demonstrated its flagship DLA-NZ900 and DLA-NZ800 D-ILA projectors in dedicated cinema and gaming environments, while also unveiling a new training platform for custom installers and a specially designed ceiling mount.

The announcements come as increasingly large televisions present greater competition for traditional home theatre projectors, prompting manufacturers such as JVC to highlight the benefits of projection on screens exceeding 100 inches.

At the centre of JVC’s home cinema demonstration was the DLA-NZ900, which uses the company’s proprietary 8K/e-shiftX technology to produce more than 33 million addressable pixels.

Equipped with JVC’s BLU-Escent laser light source, the flagship projector delivers a claimed native contrast ratio of 150,000:1 and was demonstrated on a 165-inch Stewart Filmscreen StreamPro multi-masking screen.

JVC also highlighted its Frame Adapt HDR technology, which analyses HDR content frame by frame and automatically adjusts tone mapping to optimise picture quality.

The system is designed to maintain detail in dark and bright areas of an image while improving the overall balance between contrast, colour and brightness.

Gaming was another major focus, with JVC demonstrating the DLA-NZ800 projector’s ability to deliver native 4K gaming at 120 frames per second.

The projector supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which automatically adjusts settings to reduce input lag and improve responsiveness during gameplay.

JVC paired the DLA-NZ800 with a 100-inch Screen Innovations ALR Slate screen, using an interactive soccer game to demonstrate the benefits of gaming on a large projection display.

The DLA-NZ800 also offers a claimed native contrast ratio of 100,000:1.

“With the DLA-NZ900 and DLA-NZ800, we are showing two different sides of the 8K and native 4K experience — from uncompromising cinematic performance to highly responsive large-screen gaming,” said Jamie Pasley, General Manager of JVC Home Theatre Projectors.

Alongside the projector demonstrations, JVC introduced its first dedicated D-ILA Projector Training website, designed to help custom installation professionals better communicate the advantages of home projection.

The online program takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and consists of three 15-minute modules covering the benefits of projectors over large-screen televisions, JVC’s proprietary imaging technologies and selecting the right projector for different applications.

The training covers technologies including D-ILA, native 4K resolution and Frame Adapt HDR, while also addressing practical considerations such as room size, lighting conditions, screen dimensions and customer budgets.

Short instructional videos, interactive quizzes and downloadable reference materials are included to help installers explain complex technology and guide customers through purchasing decisions.

“Great projector customer conversations aren’t about reciting specifications. They’re about understanding the customer, communicating the value of projection, and knowing which technology and model best fit each application,” Pasley said.

JVC has also teamed up with Engage Engineering to develop the CM-Pro Projector Ceiling Mount, a mounting solution specifically engineered for the company’s D-ILA projector range.

Compatible with JVC’s RS, NZ, NX and NP5 series, the CM-Pro features an all-steel construction, adjustable pitch and roll settings for precise image alignment, and additional clearance for cable routing and ventilation.

The mount supports standard 1.5-inch NPT pipes or direct attachment to wooden ceiling joists, while integrated mounting slots provide space for streaming devices and other accessories.

From September 1, 2026, JVC began including the CM-Pro ceiling mount at no additional charge with eligible new purchases of the DLA-NZ800, DLA-NZ900, DLA-RS3200 and DLA-RS4200 through authorised dealers.

JVC says the dedicated mounting solution is intended to simplify installation while delivering the engineering quality expected from its premium home theatre products.

The combination of high-resolution projection, 4K/120p gaming, installer training and purpose-built accessories reflects JVC’s efforts to strengthen its appeal in a market increasingly dominated by larger televisions.

Rather than competing on screen size alone, JVC is positioning its D-ILA projectors as a complete home entertainment solution, offering cinematic picture quality, immersive gaming and greater flexibility for dedicated home theatre installations.
