Yesterday, Channel News covered the IFA debut of JBL’s party speakers, the JBL Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720.

For those not in a sociable mood, JBL has just announced a refresh of its budget-friendly Tune headphone lineup.

There are four new Bluetooth 6.0 models aimed at commuters and casual listeners.

They offer features typically found only in pricier rivals.

The over-ear Tune 780NC and on-ear 680NC now add Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC), Spatial Sound, Personi-Fi 3.0 for customised audio profiles, and Ambient Aware for situational listening.

Both deliver up to 76 hours of playback, or around 50 hours with ANC activated, and can gain five extra hours from just a five-minute fast charge.

Along with impressive tech, the refreshed JBL headphones look good too

The Tune 730BT and 530BT, positioned as everyday workhorses, drop ANC and JBL Spatial Sound in favour of JBL’s Pure Bass sound.

They still share the headline 76-hour battery life and rapid charge option, along with Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity, Fast Pair by Google and Swift Pair by Microsoft.

Colour options include Black, White, Blue, Beige, and for the 530BT, a Lavender finish.

The BT-only models are due to launch in October 2025, with the ANC-equipped headphones following in November.

No official Australian pricing or availability has been announced yet.

But JBL’s Tune series traditionally finds its way into major electronics retailers and online stores quickly.
