IFA Berlin: Audio Pro’s New WiiM-Powered Speakers Will Challenge Sonos
Scandinavian audio specialist Audio Pro has unveiled a complete refresh of its wireless speaker line-up, rolling out a new “W-Generation” at IFA Berlin that pairs updated hardware and sound tuning with a WiiM-powered streaming app.
The move sees Audio Pro ditch its long-running LinkPlay platform in favour of WiiM’s slick and highly rated interface.
The result is smarter controls, expanded streaming support and enhanced multi-room capabilities – a clear strategic move to take on rival Sonos.
The redesigned app offers advanced EQ and room correction tools, streamlined setup and wider compatibility with services including Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, iHeartRadio and TuneIn.

Wi-Fi timing sync has been improved for tighter multi-room playback, and all W-Generation products remain backwards-compatible with existing Audio Pro models.
While the new speakers retain their minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic, Audio Pro has made subtle refinements new colourways in grey, black and white, consistent logo placement and unified grille fabrics. Select models, such as the A28, will also be available in a walnut finish.
Under the hood, Audio Pro claims a “redefined” sound profile. Engineers have optimised each product for greater clarity, lower distortion and higher output.

Flagship floorstanders such as the A48 W boast up to +15dB in maximum sound pressure, while compact units like the A15 W now offer deeper bass and extended battery life.
“Our goal wasn’t to tweak the sound – it was to rethink it from the ground up,” said Henrik Dunér, CTO at Audio Pro. “We wanted the most musical sound possible from our small form factors.”
The W-Generation spans 10 products, including refreshed versions of the brand’s best-sellers: C5 MkII W, C10 MkII W, C20 W, A10 MkII W, A15 W, A28 W, A38 W, A48 W, Drumfire II W and Drumfire D-2 W.
The new range launches globally from September 5, following its debut at IFA Berlin.
