Jamo HYG 5 Brings Multiroom Streaming and All-in-One Hi-Fi to the Home
A complete hi-fi system in one speaker, Jamo’s newly launched HYG 5 features streaming, amplification and two full-range drivers all in a compact, fabric-wrapped design that showcases simplicity and contemporary style.
The Jamo HYG 5 positions itself as a lifestyle-focused alternative to conventional hi-fi with its streaming support, understated styling and the convenience of being an all-in-one product.
The speaker is designed for connected listening with support for multiroom audio. Its two drivers angle up and outward to ensure sound reaches all parts of a room fully. It also gives users flexible access to a range of music services including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast.Â
While it is a compact design, its audio architecture is more than capable. The speaker features two 2.5-inch full-range drivers and a 4-inch down-firing woofer, powered by a 30W RMS amplification system. The idea being, no matter where the HYG 5 is placed in a room, even if by a wall or in a corner, its downfiring 4-inch woofer and two ribbed port tubes keep the low end clean and controlled.
The Jamo HYG 5 also offers a more sophisticated wireless experience with Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, a stereo RCA line input and app-based EQ adjustments, all of which make it suitable for both streaming and wired sources.

Not only designed for audio, its Scandinavian design is a blend of function and form. Featuring a textile finish and gesture activation, Jamo shows its focus on integrating audio into the home environment. It also has adaptive ambient lighting, which means a soft glow of warm light emanated from the speaker, automatically adjusting with the light throughout the day and evening.Â
The smooth cube shaped all-in-one speaker is available in three colours to suit any interior style: Light Grey, Dark Grey and Amber Dune.Â
The new product expands the revived brand’s HYG range with network streaming and app control, which addresses limitations of its earlier wireless speakers.
The HYG 5 launched this month at a competitive US$399. While Jamo is available in Australia, pricing and availability for this new speaker have not yet been announced.Â
