Apple Set To Expand Retail Availability Of Apple Watch

Apple Set To Expand Retail Availability Of Apple WatchThere has been speculation over the Apple Watch’s sales figures following the release of Apple’s third quarter results last week, with analysts finding Apple is already a clear wearable tech market leader.

While the Apple Watch was initially only available online as Apple worked to clear a backlog of pre-orders, Apple will be hoping the expansion of its wearable’s retail presence will provide a further sales boost.

Research firm Canalys recently found that Apple shipped 4.2 million Apple Watches in the 2015 second quarter, however noted that early sales were hindered due to Apple missing the quarter four 2014 holiday season, along with supply constraints stalling shipments for the first couple months after the Apple Watch’s launch.

The Apple Watch will be available from Best Buy from August 7, arriving in more than 100 stores and will also be available on BestBuy.com, with Best Buy stating it will be arriving in a further 200 of its stores in time for holiday shopping.

Best Buy stated customers will be able to choose from 16 Apple Watch models, including the Sport and Watch models in both 38 mm and 42 mm sizes, along with nearly 50 accessories.

“The Apple Watch is an important addition to an emerging product category, and we know our customers want it,” Jason Bonfig, Best Buy senior category officer, commented. “We are excited to bring Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up.”
