IFA 2017: Award Winning Philips OLED TV Tipped For OZ

Tempo, who are already a major supplier in the TV market is set to benefit from an expanded Philips TV range including a new top end OLED TV that was voted ‘The Best’ OLED TV at the IFA Show in Berlin overnight.

Earlier today ChannelNews was given a look at the new OLED TV which is tipped to be significantly cheaper than similar models from LG, Sony and Panasonic.
Last week we revealed that Big W has recently started ranging the Philips Android TV range.

According to JB Hi Fi executives the mass retailer could be ranging the Philips OLED TV range next year depending on whether TP Vision who have the rights to the Philips TV range for Asia and Asia Pacific allow the top end offering to go on sale in Australia.

ChannelNews believes that the Android, Philips OLED TV offering could be up to 35% cheaper than the LG and Sony OLED TV’s.

There is also some big Philips TV’s available for the Australian market complete with Android TV.

According to TV Vision executives at IFA an expanded range of Philips top end TV’s could be made available subject to the level of orders generated by retailers.

This award-winning model includes the Philips’ brand-new P5 picture processing engine that delivers a significant increase in processing power, speed and efficiency over the Philips Perfect Pixel Ultra HD engine.

The ISAQ Judges were particularly impressed by the 9002’s ‘excellent picture quality’ and its deep blacks and motion sharpness. The EISA panel also commended the heightened ‘sense of immersion with any source’ from Philips’ unique Ambilight technology.

Commenting on the Award, TP Vision Managing Director Europe, Kostas Vouzas, said: ‘We are delighted that EISA has chosen to honour the 9002 with this award and that our efforts to offer something distinctive yet affordable in the OLED market has received such prestigious recognition. A Philips OLED TV that in all aspects simply looks better.’

This recognition from EISA is the 2nd award the Philips 55POS9002 obtains in 2017, after receiving the honour of being nominated as an outstanding product in the Consumer Electronics category in the prestigious Red Dot Product Awards.
