Nokia Doles Out $4 Billion
Nokia also released first-quarter earnings showing declining handset sales pulling down the company’s overall financial performance, recording a net loss of 239 million euros (A$355 million).
But, minus the handset business, Nokia would have recorded a 108 million euros net profit in the first quarter.
Shares in Nokia have nearly doubled since the Microsoft deal was announced in September. On Tuesday, the stock traded hands at 5.50 euros, up 7.1 percent from the prior session.
Nokia also confirmed company insider Rajeev Suri as chief executive officer.
