Huawei Tries To Take On TCL Plex With $200 More Expensive Nova 5T

It’s $200 more expensive than the all-new $499 TCL Plex despite this Huawei is still looking to launch new models in Australia the latest being the Nova 5T which will retail for $699, is $200 more expensive than their archrival and less premium features.

Huawei chose today to launch their new device with insiders claiming that they wanted to “spoil TCL Mobiles launch of the Plex”.

The only problem is that Google is banned from getting access to Google apps whether it be Google Maps, G Mail or YouTube, this is a serious problem for anyone considering the purchase of a Huawei smartphone today especially a device like the Nova 5T which appears to be an Android work around device.

The new Nova 5T has almost identical features as the TCL Plex including a 48MP camera, 6.26” FullView display, and a long-lasting battery.

The TCL Plex has a 6.53″ LCD Dotch display which delivers 19.5:9 display (1080 x 2340 pixels) and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%.

Missing from the new Huawei device  is a Qualcomm chipset that is found in over 90% of Android smartphones.

What Huewei is offering is their house brand Kirin 980 chipset which no other manufacturers use.

The nova 5T has a versatile rear quad-camera setup, featuring a 48MP main sensor, 16MP ultra-wide sensor and 2MP macro and bokeh lenses missing is the low light video shooting capability found in the CL Plex along with the new Super Bluetooth that allows four people to connect a Bluetooth enabled headset to the one source.

The TCL Plex is powered by the Snapdragon 675 processor, has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, as well as an impressively large 3,820mAh battery Vs the smaller 3,750mAh battery found in the new Huawei smartphone.

The Huawei nova 5T is available in dual sim and the colour schemes are Crush Blue and Black.

Both versions feature a side-mounted finger-print sensor Vs the rear back sensor found on the TCL Plex.

Availability begins today Thursday 24 October 2019 at JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, and Mobileciti, with an RRP of $699.

Also, on sale today is the TCL Plex which retails for $499 with superior features.
