Microsoft is hoping to loosen Google’s grip on the education market with their new stripped-down Windows 10 S offering.
While the new Surface Laptop is the top-end of this foray into the market, they’ve also enlisted Acer and HP to the cause.
Acer is bringing a new variant of the TravelMate Spin B1 Convertible, a touchscreen laptop with an 11.6-inch, 1080p display, Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.
Meanwhile, HP’s laptop is a new version of the ProBook x360 Education Edition. It’s an 11.6-inch machine with an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. In short, it’s pretty close to Acer’s offering minus the touchscreen.
In the US, the two laptops will retail for $299.
Australian pricing and availability for these products is to be announced.
