Hisense has introduced a new 50-inch model to its CanvasTV lineup, targeting consumers seeking a more compact, design-focused television for smaller living spaces.

The latest addition joins existing 55-, 65-, 75- and 85-inch variants, and continues the brand’s push into “art TV” territory where screens double as decorative pieces when not in use.

The 50-inch CanvasTV displays curated artwork and photography in standby mode, with users able to cycle through more than 1,000 pieces or upload their own images.

Designed to sit flush against the wall, the unit mimics a framed artwork, supported by interchangeable frame options.

Hisense has also emphasised the TV’s anti-glare display, aimed at reducing reflections and improving visibility in bright rooms.

The TV runs on Google TV, offering access to over 800 free live channels and hundreds of thousands of on-demand titles across major streaming platforms. It also supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit for smart home integration.

With a US retail price of US$1,299.99, the 50-inch model is the most affordable in the CanvasTV range. While local pricing and availability for Australia have yet to be confirmed, the smaller form factor is expected to appeal to apartment dwellers and secondary room placements such as bedrooms and kitchens.
