Harman Shakes Up Australian Audio Distribution
Samsung-owned, Harman Professional Solutions, has revealed it will be “simplifying” and “strengthening” distribution of its pro audio division in Australia, with longtime local partners avt and CMI taking over the distribution of seven brands.
From February 1st next year, avt and CMI will take over Australian distribution for AKG, JBL Professional, BSS, Crown, dbx, Lexicon and Soundcraft solutions.
The company affirms that with 25 years of experience, avt will expand its portfolio to include the complete Harman integration and installation audio product range.
Following its 35 year relationship with Harman, CMI will soon represent its retail, recording, and ‘prosumer’ audio division, adding to its current HARMAN portfolio of Digitech and Axys Tunnel Solutions.
Harman states that all other Australian and New Zealand distribution will stay unchanged.
Whilst warranty terms and inclusions will not be affected, “support, warranty and repair” of Harman Professional products in Australia will transition to avt and CMI.
Ramesh Jayaraman, VP and GM of HARMAN Professional Solutions APAC, states that the new distribution model will provide Australian customers “greater clarity” through a simplified sales and support structure, whilst providing Harman greater expansion opportunities:
“At the conclusion of an extensive review process, we identified reducing complexity and taking a solutions-driven approach as fundamental processes for improving customer experience”
“The new distribution model leverages over 60 years of collective experience between avt and CMI in the Australian market, and will provide customers greater clarity through simplified sales and support structures”
“Delivering on this strategy also creates the opportunity for further investment and expansion by HARMAN Professional Solutions in the Australian market, as avt and CMI extend their capabilities and support across the entire Harman Professional audio range”.
HARMAN Professional Solutions is heralded a notable player in the audio, video, networked AV, lighting and control systems market.
