Google Mid-Range Pixel 3a Features Leak Ahead of Launch

Following a steady trickle of leaks, images and features of Google’s upcoming affordable premium smartphones, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, have been shared ahead of its expected May 7 launch.

Droid Life has obtained and shared images of the upcoming device including promotional graphics.

If the leaks prove accurate then consumers can expect three colours: black, white, and an off-white purple colour, with yellow power side buttons on the white and purple versions.

The leak also states that the 5.6-inch Pixel 3a and its larger counterpart the 6-inch 3a XL will feature the 12.2MP Dual Pixel rear cameras with Pixel 3 features like Night Sight.

Other reported features include 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, and an 8MP selfie camera.

This latest leak doesn’t confirm the use of Snapdragon 670 or 710 chips, but they are expected to feature 3,000mAh (3a) and 3700mAh (3a XL) batteries, squeezy Active Edge sensors, rear fingerprint readers, and operate Android 9.0 Pie.

Engadget also points to a video which claims the price will start at US$399 for the 3a and US$479 for the 3a XL, Droid Life claims the same price.

The 3a was accidentally confirmed by Google last month and is expected to launch at the company’s I/O developer conference on May 7.

“Something big is coming to the Pixel universe,” read a teaser on the Google Store, followed by a promo for Marvel’s Avengers: End Game.
