Google Co Wing Commercial Flights Take Off

Alphabet’s drone unit Wing has launched its first commercial delivery flight.

The delivery, made last week, represents a milestone for Wing, which has spent years working to perfect its drones to deliver items such as food and medicine to homes within minutes.

Wing is also developing a software platform that can be used for multiple aircraft deliveries.

Earlier this month, Wing announced it would be partnering with logistics company FedEx Express and US retailer Walgreens.

Wing, spun out of Alphabet’s experimental X division last year, is the first drone company to receive Federal Aviation Administration approval.
