Foxtel Takes Each Way Punt On New Kayo Sports App

Foxtel has taken an ‘each way punt’, by investing in new Aussie sports streaming service ‘Kayo’. Harnessing “game-changing” technology, Kayo Sports will launch from $25/month, alongside an exclusive telco partnership with Telstra.

With no lock in contract, Kayo Sports pledges over 30,000 hours of sports content per year, and is powered by FOX SPORTS Australia, ESPN and beIN SPORTS.

Subscribers can watch up to four LIVE events on a single screen (“SplitView”), choosing from over 50 sports on demand.

Streaming is compatible with most devices including; iOS and Android tablets/phones, laptops, PCs, Telstra TV, Apple TV and via Chromecast Ultra.

Following an exclusive telco relationship, Telstra customers can add Kayo Sports to their home or broadband package, or watch via a dedicated app on Telstra TV.


Sports include cricket, AFL, rugby league, rugby union, motorsports, basketball, gridiron, football, golf, tennis, plus a suite of exclusive Kayo content.

Kayo has also partnered with Cricket Australia to broadcast every international match of the Aussie summer, plus every match of the KFC BBL and Rebel WBBL.

With a suite of personalisation options, users can specify their favourite codes and teams to receive notifications when a big game is about to start.

Kayo Sports CEO – former amaysim boss – Julian Ogrin, asserts the “game-changing” service is custom built for sports lovers, giving fans exactly what they want:

“So we threw out the rulebook and built a service that gives fans exactly that: only sports streamed, a simple sign-up process, and a personalised experience”

“We launched Kayo earlier this month in Beta form to test the service with real customers, in real conditions”

“We have a customer-centric mentality, and this has allowed us to listen to their feedback and use these insights to continually enhance the product.”

For the time poor, Kayo offers users “Key Moments” game highlights, featuring the best bits of selected matches.

With a special “No Spoilers” function, fans can switch off scores, to enjoy games as though LIVE.

Kayo Sports streaming starts from $25/month with access to two concurrent streams. The $35/month option provides access to three concurrent streams.

The streaming service will kick off a national marketing campaign, headlined by several sports starts including NBA hero Ben Simmons, tennis ace Ash Barty and NRL rising star Latrell Mitchell.
