Former iiNet Execs Take Turns In Revolving NBN Door

Michael Malone, the founder of Internet service provider iiNet, has joined the board of NBN as a director. He replaces Simon Hackett, a founder of ISP Internode that iiNet acquired in 2011.

Malone founded iiNet in 1993 and served as its CEO for more than 20 years. His reputation is in building new companies such as the cybersecurity firm, Diamond Cyber, and has a number of board appointments at companies including SpeedCast, Superloop and Seven West Media.

Hackett joined the board as a non-executive director in 2013 and has resigned to focus on his latest baby, ASX-listed company, Redflow where he is the largest shareholder and was recently tapped to the post of executive chairman.
