HTC Sales Lift 125%..But No Profits

HTC Sales Lift 125%..But No ProfitsHTC March sales jump 124.5% to NT$16.2bn, compared to the previous month, and improved 2% compared to March 2013.

HTC, who just released the new One M8 phone last week, expects to see positive revenue growth in April and in Q2, driven by “strong market demand” for flagship One (M8) and cheaper Desire 816.
However, for the first quarter it wasn’t such good news.
For Q1, January to March 2014, HTC reported net loss before tax of NT$1.88 billion (US$62m), on revenues of NT$33.1 billion ($1.1bn), as it battles against titans Samsung and Apple, as well as other Androids.
The Taiwanese phone maker expects to return to profitability in the second quarter, it said in a statement.
Operating loss for the quarter was NT$2.05 billion.
Telstra execs expect the new One to be among the most popular smartphones, this year.
