Fitness tracking devices are not always about bright displays and smartwatch features. For some users, a simpler approach holds more appeal, especially when traditional wearables can feel bulky, costly, and limited by battery life. This has led to growing interest in screen-free designs that focus purely on health data without the distraction of a display.

Fitbit appears to be moving further into this space with a new product developed alongside basketball star Steph Curry. Although the device has not yet been officially announced, a collection of recently surfaced images has provided a closer look at what is believed to be the upcoming tracker.

The photos, first highlighted by Droid Life, reportedly originated from Curry’s own social media activity. They show a minimalist band worn on the wrist, featuring a woven grey strap with an orange trim and a metallic fastening. The design closely aligns with earlier teaser material shared by Google, Fitbit’s parent company, which hinted at a similar device earlier in April.

The visual evidence strengthens the idea that all sightings point to the same product. Beyond still images, a video featuring Curry has also drawn attention. In the footage, a modified version of the Fitbit app appears to be running on a Google Pixel handset. The app seems to display real-time tracking for a sports session; something not currently offered in the standard version. This suggests that new software features may be introduced alongside the wearable.

What makes the situation more unusual is how frequently the device has been seen in public. Reports indicate Curry has been wearing it since at least January 2026, appearing with it during games, media appearances, and promotional events. This level of visibility is uncommon for an unreleased product, which would typically remain confidential until launch.

One explanation is that this visibility is intentional. Allowing the device to be seen ahead of its debut could be part of a strategy to generate early awareness and curiosity before any formal marketing begins. Given Curry’s direct involvement in the project, the sightings carry more credibility than a typical leak involving an unknown prototype.

With the wearable already making regular appearances, it is likely that an official announcement is not far away. Details such as the final name, features, and pricing in A$ have yet to be confirmed, but interest is clearly building among those who prefer a more understated approach to fitness tracking.
